Let your clients tell customers how good you are

One of the biggest problems with advertising your own company or business is that as the owner or head of the company everyone will believe that you are totally biased – and of course you are!  On the other hand people are much more likely to believe a complete stranger, as long as they believe that they have not been paid to say nice things about what your company has done for them.

This conundrum often means that companies and businesses never make video testimonials. However there is nothing like a good review to increase your sales and a video is so much more interactive and engaging.  So what should you be thinking about when you are making a video testimonial?  

Here are our three top tips for making an authentic and powerful video testimonial:

1. It must be or feel authentic.

Of course in a perfect world you would only ever make video testimonials that were actual customers talking about their great experiences but when you are running an online company you may never actually see any of your customers face to face. This can make creating a video testimonial that is or feels real very difficult. However there is one great way to get around this, you could hire an actor to read out real reviews that people have posted about your company. As long as you make that clear at the beginning of the video viewers will be content.

2. It must be interesting.

Remember that you want to engage your audience’s attention and make sure that they watch the video in its entirety; the last thing you want them to do is not get to the end.  Delivery is important so too is the theme and structure.  By utilising the services of a video production company you will ensure that all these boxes are ticked and your testimonial video looks professional.

3. It must end with a call to action.

There is no point in having a video testimonial that does not seem to have any clear direction at the end.  A call to action is basically a challenge to the audience – what are you going to do now that you have heard this great video testimonial?  Of course what you want them to do is immediately go and purchase something from you but unless that is very clear, they may just go back to their normal browsing.
